DAYTONA BEACH, FL (March 1, 2012) – Federal financial aid is available to eligible students; however, scholarships are often overlooked as a funding source and in some cases can make the difference in whether or not a student is able to pursue a college education.
Financial Aid Services at Daytona State College provides many resources to help students with their scholarship search. In addition to completing the 2011-2012 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), students should also plan to apply for Daytona State College Foundation donor scholarships which can be done online at www.DaytonaState.edu/scholarships. Financial aid for summer is limited, so students should check with Financial Aid Services about their eligibility.
With summer classes starting May 21 and July 2, the deadline to apply for donor scholarships is March 16.
Planning ahead for fall enrollment, students should complete their 2012-2013 FAFSA applications now, and apply for fall donor scholarships later in April.
